Rough (Above Slab) Plumbing Phase

If we consider the Rough (Above Slab) Plumbing phase to be that plumbing done above the foundation slab, then this phase began on April 21, 2021. The plumbers arrived early and worked most of the day installing the hot and cold water PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) supply lines to the restrooms. PEX is highly freeze-resistant, so it can be run in the attic and exterior walls. They also began installing the drain venting system which gathers the various vents in the attic to a single roof vent. The plumbers returned on April 22nd to run the PEX piping in the attic over to the Kitchen area. The PEX piping in the attic has 1″ insulation attached. They also installed an air chamber in the supply line to manage any potential water hammer, a water hammer arrester. The plumbers were back again briefly on April 27th to add some hot and cold-water faucet stubs in the mop closet. Looks like we are now waiting for an inspection before we can again move forward.
